The NSE is closed on all declared public holidays. There is no trading in the Equity, Equity Derivatives, and SLB segments on these days. The Currency Derivatives and Commodity Derivatives segments may also be closed, with a few exceptions as noted.

Important Notes:

  1. Evening Session Closures: The exchange will close early for the evening session (from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM IST) on:

    • Holika Dahan (March 14, 2025)

    • Diwali Laxmi Pujan (October 20, 2025)

    • Muhurta Trading for Diwali (Samvat 2081) will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM. This is a special, one-hour trading session.

  2. Currency & Commodity Derivatives: The Currency Derivatives segment will remain closed on all the holidays mentioned above. The Commodity Derivatives segment will also be closed on these days, except for Maharashtra Day (May 1), where it will remain open.

  3. Weekend Holidays: The NSE is regularly closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
